Microdermabrasion

duration: 60 min price: 95 C$

Microdermabrasion is an effective procedure that very softly resurfaces the skin and doesn’t require any surgical intervention. A diamond tip is used for the performance of microdermabrasion exfoliation. Gentle vacuum carefully brushes the skin’s surface.

During the procedure of microdermabrasion dead and damaged cells are removed from the surface of the skin leaving it soft and silky. This also forces the process of regeneration of new skin cells. Here at D&K MEDICAL SPA, we combine microdermabrasion with a complete facial including treatment creams and a mask suitable for your skin type. Also, high frequency and extractions are used if necessary.

D&K MEDICAL SPA uses microdermabrasion systems that have been approved by the FDA and officially documented in its effectiveness to work with:

  • Dull and congested skin
  • Enlarged pores
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Uneven skin tones
  • Hyperpigmentation

The effectiveness of this procedure is also proved in minimizing the appearance of:

  • Blemishes
  • Fine lines
  •  Scars
  • Textural damaged skin

Very often microdermabrasion is described as the lunch hour procedure and here is why. After the treatment, the skin might often get the tight feeling. Some individuals might also experience light flaking of the skin and for that reason it is advised to use a good moisturizer according to the recommendations of our skin therapist. Otherwise, you will get minimal side effects.

There are also other treatments that will help achieve the best results, like Photo Rejuvenation, Chemical peels, or Laser Facial Treatment. Given the condition of your skin, our medical aesthetics professionals may also advise you one of those treatments. Microdermabrasion facial procedures are normally done with the 2-3 week intervals. Regular maintenance treatments are usually performed once a month.

The length of each microdermabrasion treatment is about 60 minutes. Here at D&K MEDICAL SPA, we advise our clients to come and visit us for a complimentary consultation on the condition of their skin. This will give our professionals opportunity to study and analyze your skin and recommend you the best treatment based on your individual skin type, the needs of your skin and also your own goals and expectations from the result.

NOTE: You have to keep in mind that individual results may vary.

1. Why do I need to have a Microdermabrasion Treatment?

It is well known that approximately every 28 days each one of us creates a new skin layer. In the process, as new cells are being formed, they push their way up to the surface. With age this process slows down, which leads to the older appearance of our skin, making it less radiant. If the skin does not receive proper treatment in time, dead cells grip hold of the surface of the skin, which leads to clogged pores, blemishes, a bumpy and uneven texture of the skin, breakouts and a dull and unhealthy appearance on the whole.

2. Who benefits from a Microdermabrasion Treatment?

Microdermabrasion Treatment is good for any man or woman, with any skin type or color. If your skin is aged, flaky, thickened, devitalized, dull, blemished and congested, if you get the dry feeling or your skin has been sun damaged, you will experience rejuvenation and refreshed, even complexion. Uneven skin texture and skin tones, signs of pigmentation and blotchiness will be improved.

3. What is the difference between Microdermabrasion and Chemical Peels?

Both Microdermabrasion Treatment and Chemical Peels are used for exfoliating the skin. The difference is in the means of the process. Microdermabrasion uses a diamond tip that brushes the skin, removing the top layer of dead cells. Chemical peels are exfoliating the skin itself, using acids, such as glycolic, lactic, salicylic etc. Each acid penetrates the different depth of the skin. Chemical peels are often used in medical skin treatment. If you want to go through a light exfoliation without deep skin peeling microdermabrasion would be a very good choice.
